A former BBDO senior creative and ex-session musician, J's experience in advertising, design and the professional music environment has helped craft his directorial style. His films and commercial work have garnered awards and screenings worldwide including the United States, Europe and South Africa.

Growing up Down Under instilled J with a hunger to see the world. He jumps at each chance to cross datelines and create beautifully emotive, visual stories and has shot projects from Bolivia to Galway, London to Los Angeles.

J’s deep knowledge of the advertising, design and music worlds, together with his natural empathy for people, place and tempo make him an adaptable director adept at crafting memorable performances with actors and real people. He has worked with major global brands like Volvo, Ford, and Universal and has directed talent like Golden Globe® nominated David Oyelowo (Selma, Interstellar) and Oscar® nominated Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine). J thrives off every stage of the directing process, and his passion for storytelling can be felt through his extraordinary, truth-laden images and his capturing of engaging performances.

J is excited about inspiring others in their creative work and often guest lectures on creativity and the creative process.
